During the periods of 15-16 November and 20-21 November, in Tecuci, respectively in Urziceni, two trainings took place, organized by the Nevo Parudimos Association, as member of ERGO (European Roma Grassroots Organisations Network), in partnership with FNGAL (National Federation of Local Action Groups in Romania), on the theme of Community Led Local development (CLLD) and who could the access to funds available through the LEADER program for Roma be accessed.

Trainings also had as target local actors, potential applicants for financing offered through the LEADER Program by LAG and the teams belonging to Local Action Groups.

The subjects discussed during these trainings were:

–   The specific of Roma communities and how to communicate with them;

–   The manner in which LAGs function;

–   The role of local actors in LAG functioning;

–   The CLLD principles and the down-up approach;

–   Alternative financing sources for LAGs;

–   Planning new ideas for projects.

“These trainings had as purpose the meeting of the LAG team and of potential beneficiaries, NGOs, public authorities, companies that could communicate and work on common ideas, so that after the end of the training, they would leave home with a draft of a potential project idea that could financed by LAG for the present beneficiaries” – Daniel Grebeldinger – trainer.

The two events counted the presence of 80 people (40 members of LAGs teams and 40 potential beneficiaries from the two areas, Tecuci and Urziceni). The feedback received from the participants was a positive one.

“I now see LAGs differently, we are important for the area and we can do so much” – Irina
