The Nevo Parudimos Association organized on the 23.09.2017, at the “Eftimie Murgu” University of Resita the event “Prevention methods for school dropout – national symposium” where 60 people and didactic personnel members participated, from all over the country.

The objective of the conference was to explore the phenomenon of school dropout and to identify the reasons that lead to the accentuation of this phenomenon, despite educational measures and politics established for this purpose. Among the social categories targeted one could observe disadvantaged young people, aged between 14 and 22, who didn’t succeed in graduating the primary and/or the secondary levels and those who abandoned school to take care of one’s family.

This conference desired to obtain an understanding from the socio-economic environment of the target group and of cultural particularities that affect the learning process in order to offer new characteristics in understanding and fighting this process in the present socio-economic context.

The event scheduled is a part of the project “Learned Inactivity – Decreasing the Number of ESL Students in Disadvantaged Communities with the Power of Non-Formal Learning”.

The Nevo Parudimos from Resita implemented the project “Learned Inactivity” through the  Erasmus+ Program (KA2 Strategic Partnership 2015-2-HU02-KA205-001071), in partnership with the Association for Community Development from Hungary and the Phiren Amenca network from Belgium. The implementation period for this project was June 2016 – October 2017.

The objective of the project referred to the realization of an explorative analysis of the school dropout process, mainly of the main reasons that determine young people aged 14 to 22 to leave school at early ages.

For more information the event coordinator may be contacted, Mr. Daniel Grebeldinger, at the phone nr. 0723 202 756 or on the email address: grebeldingerdaniel@nevoparudimos.ro.
