2023-2024
Period: 01.06.2023 – 31.08.2024
No. contract: 2023-1-RO01-KA151-YOU-000135554
Budget: 132 075,00 EUR
The overall aim of our Erasmus+ accreditation for 2023 was to create more opportunities for personal and professional growth for young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and to strengthen the capacity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working with these youth. Through the implementation of four mobilities, we focused on the following objectives:
- Increase the offer of opportunities for personal development for young people. We aimed to provide young people, especially those from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds, with opportunities to participate in international activities. These experiences helped broaden their perspectives, develop new skills, and foster personal growth by engaging them in intercultural environments. Activities such as theater, workshops on democratic participation, and events focused on inclusion allowed participants to build confidence, communication skills, and the ability to work in diverse teams.
- Empower youth from various disadvantaged backgrounds, especially Roma youth, to combat exclusion and discrimination. A key focus was to empower young people from disadvantaged groups, particularly Roma youth, to fight against social exclusion and discrimination. By involving them in activities that promoted inclusion, human rights, and empathy-building, we equipped them with tools to raise awareness and advocate for an inclusive society. Through artistic methods like theater, participants were encouraged to become active voices in their communities, challenging discrimination and promoting tolerance and diversity.
- Empower youth from the local community to become active citizens, actively engaging in society. We sought to increase civic engagement among young people, encouraging them to play active roles in their communities and the democratic process. The “Vote for an Inclusive Future” youth exchange, for example, focused on educating participants about the importance of voting, the role of European institutions, and active citizenship. Through this, young people gained knowledge and motivation to participate in both local and European political processes, inspiring others in their communities to get involved in shaping their societies.
- Build the capacity of NGOs working with disadvantaged youth, especially Roma, to enhance the quality of their work. Another key objective was to strengthen the capacity of NGOs to better serve disadvantaged youth, with a focus on Roma communities. By organizing the “Partnership for Inclusion” mobility for youth workers, we provided NGO representatives with tools, resources, and networks to improve their work. This training was aimed at enhancing the quality of their services by equipping them with effective strategies to support marginalized youth, ensuring more impactful and sustainable inclusion efforts.
- Improve the quality of NGO activities aimed at youth and developing youth programs. Through the four mobilities, we aimed to raise the overall quality of youth-focused activities organized by partner NGOs. By introducing innovative methods such as Forum Theater, creative arts, and intercultural learning, we enhanced how organizations engage young people and address social issues. Strengthening collaboration between partners also contributed to the long-term improvement of youth activities, ensuring that these innovative approaches would continue to benefit disadvantaged youth in future projects.
The Erasmus+ accreditation for 2023 aimed to make a lasting impact on young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and on the NGOs working with them. Through four mobilities, we provided participants with opportunities for personal development, social inclusion, and civic engagement. By empowering marginalized youth, particularly Roma, we equipped them to combat exclusion and discrimination, while fostering their confidence to become advocates for inclusion and diversity in their communities.
In parallel, we strengthened the capacity of NGOs through training and networking, ensuring they could offer better support to disadvantaged youth. This investment in NGO development promotes long-term improvements in their youth programs and inclusion efforts. Additionally, our focus on civic participation, particularly through the “Vote for an Inclusive Future” exchange, empowered young people to actively engage in democratic processes and promote the importance of voting within their communities.
The project not only benefited participants but also fostered lasting partnerships between NGOs, ensuring that the impact will extend far beyond the immediate mobilities. Overall, the project has laid the foundation for a more inclusive and active society, where young people are equipped to shape positive social change.
