Nevo Parudimos Association implemented between September 7, 2015 – April 1, 2017, the EVS project “Be responsible, Be green”.

The project is funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus + program, Key Action 1, Youth Mobility.

A total of 10 volunteers from several European countries spent a year in the village of Milcoveni in Caras-Severin County where they had the opportunity to integrate into the local community and to experience in the true sense of the word country life.

The volunteers arrived in Romania in two series of 5, but they had the opportunity to interact all 10 for a month to exchange impressions and to teach, respectively take over the activities.

In their daily work, the volunteers were divided into two groups, each group having its responsibilities (in addition to working on the farm, one of the groups was responsible for environmental events, by promoting the camp to have more volunteers and visitors, by promoting volunteering in the village, while the other group was responsible for the camp farm, animal care, gardening and agriculture, promoting organic farming, responsible consumption and maintaining the camp’s green spaces).

Also, once every 3 months, all volunteers carried out a joint activity to promote Erasmus + activities in the Milcoveni community and in the region, with a strong emphasis on promoting non-formal education and outdoor activities among young people in the villages of area.

In general, the activity of all volunteers was to contribute to the development of the Marabu camp, to the development of the farm, but also to raising awareness about the importance of responsible consumption, volunteering, environmental activities that we can do with all and organic farming as an alternative.
