Nevo Parudimos Association implemented between March and September 2020 the InterculturART project – a path to inclusion, a project that addresses one of the main challenges facing Europe in recent history: the integration of refugees coming from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan or African countries.
Objectives:
– to train 45 young refugees, asylum seekers, young people with migrant origins or volunteers interested in building a European society open to refugees, from Romania, Great Britain (Wales), Greece, Slovenia and Poland in identifying communication tools and how to use them to create connections with the local community;
– increasing the self-esteem of 45 young people from severely disadvantaged backgrounds, using different types of art as a form of expression of dialogue and understanding of the subject of migration, during the project.
– empowering 45 participants from Romania, Great Britain (Wales), Greece, Slovenia and Poland to organize “Living library” events in their communities;
– to provide a safe space where the 45 participants can share their life stories and create a bridge between them and the young community of Milcoveni village;
– increasing the awareness of the 45 participants regarding the importance of accepting, including and supporting refugees; asylum seekers and migrants from Romania, Great Britain (Wales), Greece, Slovenia and Poland.
The objectives of our project respond to the objectives of the Erasmus+ program and the National Strategy, by increasing awareness of the current situation of migrants, by involving young people from rural areas and by offering support to new associations for the development of international skills.
The youth exchange within this project took place in the Marabu camp in Milcoveni village, Caraș-Severin county.
