Objectives:

Our project “Network of Cities Using DLRC Principles and Cultural Activities to Promote Roma Inclusion in Europe” is a unique initiative driven by the need for the exchange of good practices and the need for models and examples of inclusion.

The project aims to develop an international network of cities to promote equality between citizens, tolerance and participation of the Roma community through the Romact methodology established by the European Council and the European Commission in the ROMACT program (http: f / coe-romact.org). Our network will initially contain 4 cities: Resita in Romania, Torino in Italy, Gyongyos in Hungary and Isperith in Bulgaria, but will expand in Europe, where there is ROMACT.

The main objective of the project is to promote the idea of equal citizens in a tolerant and open European society.

Other objectives of the project are:

  • Promoting the DLRC principles used in the Romact methodology in the 4 European states involved in this project;
  • Documenting and joining at least 16 models of good practice on promoting active civic relations and the participation of Roma and other disadvantaged groups;
  • Promoting inclusion through culture in the four local communities involved in the project;
  • Preparation of four action plans for Roma using the Romact methodology in the partner cities;
  • Development of a network that promotes Roma inclusion.

Activities:

Our project will have four international meetings organized in each partner country, each with three components: a day dedicated to study visits for experts and civil society representatives on good practice projects; a day dedicated to organizing an international conference of experts to present various theories or models of inclusive projects; a day dedicated to cultural activities that promote inclusion.

Also, at local level, in each country, we will make an action plan for the Roma using the Romact methodology from Romania (budgeted action plan).

Within the project we will have 5 international meetings:

  • October 12 – 14, 2017 – Resita, Romania
