The festival takes place each year and serves the purpose of promoting the traditional culture of ethnic minorities in the Banat Region, the host of the 2009 edition being the Romani minority.

The Banat Ethnical Communities’ Festival IXth edition was a cultural event organized by the County Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture in Caras-Severin, in partnership with the Nevo Parudimos Association from Resita and the city of Baile Herculane Mayor’s Office.

The festival’s costs (33742 RON) were covered through a project financed partly by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund, while the co-financers where the Caras-Severin County Council and the Resita based Nevo Parudimos Association.

The festival’s program also staged a traditional clothing parade and a presentation of ethnical minorities’ traditional crafts.
