Nevo Parudimos Association, as a partner, together with Kreativ Research and Resita City Hall, is launching, starting with October 2021, the RomActive – Increasing the capacity of marginalized communities in Resita project.
The objectives of the project are to increase access to public services for over 2,200 people in the ghetto neighborhoods of Resita (Mociur, Dealu Mare and Calnic), increase the capacity to mobilize and organize these people and improve knowledge about public administration in these communities.
RomActive will start with a study in the three communities of Resita mentioned above which will provide an overview of the situation of the Roma ethnics in Mociur, Dealu Mare and Câlnic as well as the standard of living in the three communities.
The project will create a neighborhood committee in each of the three disadvantaged communities and an initiative group to facilitate dialogue between disadvantaged people in the city and local authorities, in order to improve access to services (education, health, employment labor market etc).
These initiative groups will participate in the decision-making process both within the Resita Local Action Group and in the elaboration of the Action Plan for Roma, the meetings of the Local Council and other meetings within the Resita City Hall. By setting up these initiative groups, the project aims to increase the interest of local authorities in meeting the needs of Roma people in the city and to create a strong voice to represent these communities in local decision-making and facilitating access to services.
The project is carried out by Kreativ Research Association in partnership with Nevo Parudimos Association and Resita City Hall with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund Romania, a program funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants 2014-2021.
