Nevo Parudimos Association implements for 14 months the participation project in the field of youth “Active young citizens of tomorrow”, financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission.

The goal of our project is to increase the involvement and participation of young people in the decision-making process in Reșita.

The objectives of this initiative are:
1. Increasing the knowledge and skills of 35 young people regarding participation and involvement in the local decision-making process

2. Increasing the interest and understanding of 35 young people from Resisi regarding participation in the local decision-making process

3. Increasing by at least 2 (the local development strategy and the youth strategy of the city of Resita) the number of local and regional planning or development policy documents that also include the needs of the young people of Resita

4. The capacity of the youth sector (8 student councils, 3 youth centers and 4 youth and social NGOs) in Reșita

As activities, our project includes 3 youth participation events as follows:

  • a strategic planning activity, which includes 15 focus groups (involving 8-15
    young people) in which different categories of young people, from different backgrounds, will participate;
  • online consultation that will involve 5 debates (involving 15-20 young people) carried out in different neighborhoods and a general debate (with at least 50 participants) aimed at developing a local youth strategy in Reșita
  • 3 mobilities for the participation of young people in different locations in Romania, with the aim of learning and developing new skills.

The direct beneficiaries of these activities will be a total of 35 young people aged between 15-25 years old from the student councils of all 8 high schools in Reșița.

As results, by implementing this project we will increase the involvement and participation of young people from Reșita in the decision-making process at the local and national level. Thus, through this initiative we want to:

  • to develop a youth strategy carried out and approved by the Reșita Local Council
  • to organize 4 youth participation mobilities
  • to train 35 young people on “civic involvement” and “strategic planning”
  • to have over 70 young people and 10 decision makers participating in our study visits
  • to have over 40 young people registered for each of the 4 events
  • to have over 300 young people attend our consultation meetings
  • to develop the motivation and spirit of active citizenship among the young people of Reșita
  • to create a functional partnership that involves all the youth NGOs in Reșiţa and the Youth Centers and the High School Student Councils (a memorandum will be signed between them and they will meet regularly after the project is completed);
