Nevo Parudimos Association implements for 30 months, as a partner, the When Scars Become Art project, an Erasmus+ strategic partnership that aims to research the connection between mental health and inclusion and, by taking measures, to increase the level of mental well-being of young Roma and refugees to facilitate inclusion.

The project also aims to train youth workers with scientific tools to more easily reach the needs of the target group in order to provide quality services to the beneficiaries.

This initiative has the following objectives:

  • analyzing the interrelationship and impact of inclusion and mental well-being among young Roma and migrants by analyzing qualitative and quantitative data for 12 months among 100 young people, 15 NGOs and 5 mental health centers from the 6 partner countries
  • developing two innovative tools for 30 youth workers to use in their work with young Roma and refugees by 2025
  • training 30 youth workers from partner countries and improving their mental well-being knowledge and skills using innovative tools developed within the project

As activities, the project will involve: a joint research on the needs of the target groups targeted by the project; a joint document with policy proposals for the inclusion of Roma youth; two training courses for youth workers from partner countries; seven national conferences and one international conference; two international seminars.

The concrete results we want to produce during the project implementation period are:
– an EU-wide research on the interrelationship between mental well-being and inclusion
– six policy recommendation documents in each partner country
– a toolkit addressing the promotion of well-being and mental health among people from vulnerable groups
– a mental health app tailored to the needs of young Roma and refugees, as well as youth workers
– training for youth workers on inclusion and mental health

The project is financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission.
