The second trans-national meeting from the YourEP strategic project took place on the date of 8 March in the city of Pitea from Sweden. The steps for the preparing of young people to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg were discussed, for the period of 29 May – 3 June. A similar meeting took place in November 2017 in Brussels.

Most participants come from disadvantaged environment, and each partner work with them in order to them to understand how the mechanisms at the level of the European Union function and how they can get involved during this strategic project.

Besides this simulation, participants will also participate in EYE (European Youth Event), the largest international event organized by the European Parliament in Strasbourg, during the time period 1-2 June 2018. At the EYE meeting, an experience exchange will be obtained, with other international participant groups. Approximately 8000 participants are expected, the positions being filled in since the end of the year 2017.

The purpose of the Strasbourg simulation and that of EYE is to reveal to young people details about the EU countries politics  and mainly of the countries they come from.

At the event developed on the 8th of March, Laura Turcu participated as project coordinator from the Nevo Parudimos Association and Alexandru Firulescu as participant. In addition to the theoretical part of this meeting, participants also had fun in the Pitea city for one hour of sleighing on the frozen sea, the temperatures in the area being extremely low even during the beginning of spring.

The project is financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program, Key Action 2, strategic partnerships.
