My next job -opportunities for disadvantaged youth

Young people from Reșița participated in the two youth exchanges of the “My Next Job” project, which took place from June 19-29, 2024, and August 1-11, 2024. The project was funded by the Erasmus+ program under contract no. 2023-3-DE04-KA152-YOU-000175990 and implemented by Asociatia Amaro Drom Germany, with Nevo Parudimos as a project partner.

The initiative had the aim to provide an opportunity for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain information and experience new skills specific to career guidance and counseling, as well as accessing online information to prepare for job interviews and documentation for job applications.

The project targeted 92 young participants from disadvantaged backgrounds coming from 8 countries: Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Germany, Czechia, Serbia, Nederland and Romania.

The project addresses the following needs of disadvantaged youth:

– Enriching their knowledge regarding the search and selection of suitable colleges/professions according to their personal competencies.

– Facilitating access for disadvantaged youth to information about national and international labor markets.

– Learning how to complete the Europass profile and how to handle a job interview, especially online.

– Providing disadvantaged youth with learning opportunities through Erasmus+ projects.

-Acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies specific to career guidance and counseling, and the process of job application.

The objectives of our project were:

  • O1:To enrich the knowledge of the 96 disadvantaged youth from 8 countries, during exchanges, about identifying their educational or professional path and accessing online information about job applications.
  • O2:To develop, for the 96 disadvantaged youth from 8 countries during exchanges, skills and competencies related to defining their educational or professional path, job search, conducting a job interview, and preparing online employment documents.
  • O3:To support the access of the 96 youth, from 8 countries, to online information specific to career guidance and counseling, as well as the EURES portal with the national and European labor market, during the project and after its funding ends.

The project activities were

  1. One preparation visit organised in Brebu, Caras Severin, Romania in 26-27 april 2024 where 13 participants took part and we discused and rewiev the future activities of the project.
  2. First youth exchange was organised in 20-28.06.2024 in Brebu and had 54 participants aged 15-19 out of which 45 young people(22 girls and 23 boys), 8 group leaders( 4 girls and 4 boys) and 1 facilitator.
  3. Second youth exchange was organised in 10-88.08.2024 in Brebu and had 54 participants aged 20-30 years old out of which 47 young people (25 girls and 22 boys), 6 group leaders(4 girls and 2 boys) and 1 facilitator.

Project results:

92 young people from the partner countries increased their knowledges and skills to find a job easier

8 movies which support young people decide about their career and find a job were created

8 activities which promote employment at local level in the 8 partner countries were implemented.
