Read and do not forget – Roma Genocide – Part of European History

In the period 2014-2015 Nevo Parudimos Association from Resita as local partner in Romania implemented the project “Read and do not forget – Roma Genocide – Part of European History”.
The objective of this project is to raise awareness of the Genocide of the Roma and to stimulate discussion and critical thinking on this topic . The project gives young people the opportunity to know the survivors and hear their experiences, to learn from the past and to develop a sense of active ownership on common European values.

Our project activities are:

-Training in the method of work “Living Library”;

-National events in the partner countries of “Living Library”;

-Local campaigns in the partner countries to draw attention to Roma Genocide;

-Creating National and International networking;

-International dissemination conference.
Our project activities in Romania are :

1.Workshop – Roma Genocide – Part of European History

2.Organising the painting exhibition Look and do not forget – Roma Genocide – Part of European History, the exhibition was made with works done by 10 young artists from art school in Resita, Sabin Pauta.
In the exhibition of oil paintings, you can see the works of the next artists: Aoki Lia , Balica Cosmina, Bîlcă Antonia , Bosneac Alys , Botşanu Alexander, Garoiu Cristian, Ilie Dariana, Ivancea Amira, Magheti Patricia, Vasilescu Ioana who were referred by teachers: Anita Strimbu and Adrian Garoiu .
1 Organising the violin recital Listen and don’t forget – Roma Genocide – Part of European History, recital performed by young artists from art school in Resita Sabin Pauta.

2 Living library – Listen and do not forget – Roma Genocide – Part of European History, event organized with the participation of Roma survivors of the deportations in Transnistria.
