Regina Damian, a young painter coming from Turkmenistan and established in Romania in 2016, held and exhibition at the “Eftimie Murgu” University of Resita. The event was organized in partnership with the Nevo Parudimos Association, the “Eftimie Murgu” University of Resita and the Regional Centre of Integration AIDRom from Timisoara.

The 14 works gathered under the name “Spirits” represent characters from a different reality, some good, other coming from a dark dimension.

“Do you believe each object has its soul? I do. I think there is magic around us. I think that trees and stones, that lakes and oceans, even heath and cold have their souls. This belief and mythology and legends from different countries have always inspired me. This is how these paintings came to life” says Regina Damian, when describing the painting of the “Spirits” collection.

Regina Damian was born in a small town called Krasnovodsk near the Caspian Sea. At the age of 6 she moved to Russia, graduated the Arts College and discovered her passion for painting. In 2016 she reached Romania, where she decided to stay and create. The young woman also exhibited in Russia, but in Romania a premiere of her exhibition was in Timisoara on the 1st of March of this year. With the same exhibition, Regina came to Resita, where her paintings were admired during the time period 2 – 14 of May, in the University entrance corridor.
