Volunteers on tour – Come to Cyprus as a volunteer for a month, or six!

The Nevo Parudimos Association is looking for volunteers for a project to be held in Nicosia and surrounding villages in Cyprus.
The project includes three steps:
- planning visit (APV), 3.05 – 6.05. 2019, where two volunteers will participate
- Long-term activity from May to October 2019 where we need a volunteer
- Short-term activity in October, where we send 2 volunteers.
As for the planning visit, it will take place between 3.05 – 6.05. 2019, requiring 2 participants from the Nevo Parudimos Association for a meeting where activities, places, methodologies and logistics of the project and of the following activities will be discussed.
For long-term work, Nevo Parudimos is looking for a volunteer to live for six months in Cyprus between May 15, 2019 – November 15, 2019. The volunteers will work with the PlanBe Association members and will have contact with each local community for a certain period of time in order to experience the traditional professions of each village and to help prepare the various cultural events / festivals in the mountain villages of Cyprus , at Trooper Geopark.
Volunteers will interact with both rural youth and elderly people in the community who will be invited to demonstrate traditional professions and traditional recipes with local products grown in different villages in the area. In addition, volunteers will create and implement arts and crafts, traditional ways of making home-made products, or organize workshops for event planning and management.
With regard to short-term work, we need 2 volunteers. The activity will take place from 8.10 to 31.10. 2019 and will bring together European participants with different backgrounds as well as young people with fewer opportunities (economic, geographical, social, cultural obstacles) and aims that through teamwork, personal development and active citizenship, to increase the degree awareness and cultural understanding. The project also involves interaction with the elderly in the community and therefore contributes to overcoming the gap between generations.
