Under the aegis of CLLD (Community-Led Local Development), an initiative for the involvement of citizens at the local level in actively responding to current social, environmental and economic challenges and a promising tool for investing in Roma inclusion,  Nevo Parudimos Association participated during the year 2019 at the following events:

Working meeting of the Local Action Groups from the Western Region, on the topic “The process and principles of urban CLLD – measures in the field of social inclusion of the Roma minority. Monitoring activities of local development strategies”. The event was organized between April 17-18, 2019, at the headquarters of the Timiș County Prefecture.

ERGO Network team visit to Reșita from June 6-9, 2019 to learn about the association’s work on CLLD and local partnerships, successes and challenges encountered.

The objectives of the visit were:

  • creating a strong network of member organizations that create horizontal links between each other to support each other’s work.
  • facilitating peer-to-peer learning between members and sharing good practice examples of their work in the field of social inclusion and Roma poverty reduction.

Training for local actors and for the teams of Urban Local Action Groups in Timișoara, between November 28-29, 2019, during which the following aspects were addressed:

  • The specifics of the Roma community (social, economic and cultural perspectives). Techniques and methods of interethnic communication
  • CLLD principles – community development a chance for the development of marginalized communities
  • The role of Urban LAGs in the implementation of CLLD
  • The role of GALU members within GALU
  • External financing opportunities for SDL
  • Rules for operation and financing of LAGs
  • The design and specifics of the management of the projects financed by the Urban LAGs – creation of specific guidelines
  • GALU transparency and animation
  • The role of community members in implementing the GALU strategy
  • Mapping the types of projects included in the GALU SDLs
  • Final conclusions. Lobby and advocacy activity of GALU for the 2021-2027 programming

Roma Forum Bucharest meeting, 02-03.12.2019, during which the following aspects were discussed:

  • Legislation against antigypsyism
  • Mapping the situation of civil society in Romania
  • Financing opportunities for Roma communities. Local Action Groups from the urban and rural environment
  • Local Development and Poverty Reduction Program, increasing Roma inclusion
  • Volunteer projects an opportunity for Roma communities, ANPCDREP European Solidarity Corps.
  • Sustainability of the NGO sector in Romania
  • The development of partnerships between Roma organizations for future initiatives

Capacity-building training for members of urban LAGs in Romania – Bucharest, 04-05.12.2019, which included the following aspects:
