Under the auspices of CLLD (Community-led Local Development), an initiative for the involvement of citizens at the local level in actively responding to current social, environmental and economic challenges and a promising tool for investing in Roma inclusion, the Nevo Parudimos Association organized in 2018 more activities.
These activities of our association are carried out on the basis of a partnership that the Nevo Parudimos Association has with the European network ERGO Network and involve several events aimed in particular at ensuring respect for Roma rights and increasing their participation in decision-making in the community.
As part of this collaboration, the Nevo Parudimos association participated in a series of activities in 2018:
Roma Forum I Bucharest meeting, between July 26-28, 2018 with the theme “Unity for Roma”. In addition to the part of discussions related to the situation of the Roma in Romania and the cooperation between Roma Forum and FEDER, it also had a component related to the racism directed against the Roma, which is becoming more and more visible both at the national and at the European level. The meeting included the following sessions:
- Cooperation and collaboration between Roma organizations in Romania. Reactions to racist actions and violence against the Roma
- The situation of the CLLD Program – urban & rural in Romania
- Programs and initiatives to support the development of Roma civil society addressed to young people
- Civil Society’s reaction to discriminatory actions of local authorities (housing, education, employment, health)
- ARESEL protest march preparation
ARESEL protest march, July 28, 2018, against the recent events and racist statements targeting the Roma.
Băile Herculane training for local actors and for the teams of Local Action Groups on the theme of Local Development placed under the responsibility of the community (DLRC) and how we can develop access to funds available through the LEADER program for Roma. The event was organized between November 9 and 11, 2018.
Roma Forum II meeting, Bucharest, during 24-24.11.2018, which included the following sessions:
- The role of the National Agency for Roma in the development of partnerships between Roma organizations
- How can we collaborate on a common Roma parliamentary agenda
- Financing opportunities for Roma communities. Local Action Groups from the urban environment
- Local Development and Poverty Reduction Program, increasing Roma inclusion
- The development of cooperation between Roma organizations at the local level
- The involvement of the World Bank in the development of partnerships and synergies to promote the inclusion of Roma
- The history of cooperation between Roma organizations. Lessons learned and future initiatives
- Partnerships for the promotion of Roma culture and traditions
- The development of partnerships between Roma organizations for future initiatives
Training Oradea for local actors and for the teams of Local Action Groups on the theme of Local Development placed under the responsibility of the community (DLRC) and how we can develop access to funds available through the LEADER program for Roma. The event was organized between 27 and 29 November 2018.
