LONG-TERM ESC – Volunteering for the town

Nevo Parudimos Association implements for 24 months a volunteering project that will bring to Resita 12 volunteers from different European countries to carry out activities based on the model of non-formal education in placement centers in the city.

Volunteering in our project will consist of organizing non-formal activities for children and young people in placement centers in Resita. Activities in these centers will be organized daily and will be educational and consensus activities based on the methodology of non-formal education, designed to develop creativity, involvement, active participation, tolerance and acceptance among young people, as well as to develop communication and self appreciation skills.

In addition to these activities, the volunteers will also focus on the involvement of local young people in various social activities, by facilitating interactions between young people in placement centers and young people in the community.

The volunteer profile is:

– be between 18 and 30 years old
– flexible, open-minded, tolerant, communicative
– with experience as a local volunteer
– interested in gaining experience in pedagogy, special education, non-formal education and working with young people
– the desire to work in a team or individually with initiative and creativity
– eager to help young people, especially the disadvantaged
– prepared to fight exclusion, prejudice and stereotypes
– knowledge of English at least at beginner level
